SFP Selected for Ground Breaking Concussion Research Study
Players, parents, coaches from the Jr. Pee Wee and Pee Wee football teams and executive board members attended the first open house of the KIDS Concussion Study led by Wake Forest University and Virginia Tech, on Tuesday, April 24th at Bridger Field House.
Great information about this ground breaking study was given out. Questions were asked and answered. Great fellowship took place, and everyone even got to spend time, have conversation and hear former NFL great Shawn Springs speak to those in attendance.
Another information session will take place in the near future. Once those details are known, the information will be published.

2011 Season

Tiny Mites win their first-ever Tiny Mite Bowl 18-12!!
At Oak Ridge on October 22, 2011, our youngest Panthers gave fans a lot to cheer about!!
At 4:30 against the Tiny Mite Greyhounds, our Tiny Mite Panthers gave it their all in a game that had all the excitement and suspense our SFP families and fans could possibly handle. The Panthers controlled both lines of scrimmage, executed their trademark long scoring runs, and handled crazy situations with maturity beyond their years. Our stingy defense held firm the entire second half--including perhaps the longest "final minute" in gridiron history--to help the Panthers earn (and we do mean earn) a hard-fought and very satisfying 18-12 victory! Afterwards, SFP Tiny Mites celebrated with the traditional Gatorade dousing of Head Coach John Hollingsworth, who graciously "took a knee" to make the job easier for these pint-sized warriors! (see photos above)
If you've seen them play or practice, you know that our 6-and 7-year-old "Boys of Fall" are athletic, energetic, high-spirited, well-coached, and good sportsmen. They have all come a long way in their first season of tackle football, and we appreciate the hard work put forth by each player, coach, and supportive parent! Congratulations, Tiny Mites on your exciting season! We're all very proud of each one of you and we look forward to many years of exciting football ahead!!
GO PANTHERS!

Look at this Panther from the past!

Ryan as a Panther!!

Ryan as a Tar Heel!!
Former South Fork Panther makes it to the NFL!!!
Ryan Taylor, a former South Fork Panther was selected in the 7th round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. Ryan played for South Fork during his entire Pop Warner career before moving on to play high school football for the Mt. Tabor Spartans. He then played for the UNC Tar Heels, where in 2010 Ryan set a UNC single season record for the most receptions by a tight end with 36 receptions. He finished the season with 36 receptions for 330 yards and 2 touchdowns in his first season on offense. The 6’ 3” 240-pounder was UNC’s special teams Captain in 2008 and 2010, and would have been in 2009 were it not for a knee injury. Ryan now has the opportunity to play for the Green Bay Packers. Let’s give Ryan a big hand for making it to the NFL!
